Your questions answered
WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO START?
Our school ‘curriculum’ forms segments of a continuous circle, where there is no definitive starting or ending point and each is organically connected to the rest. The order in which these are taught are not fixed or linear and students who join our classes will fit in seamlessly to the circle, whenever they start. As it is impossible to state the precise beginning or end of a circle, so our curriculum also has neither a beginning nor end point. Opening the door for students to start class at any time.
As such, each and every time you go around the circle, your experience becomes deeper and richer, more fulfilling and beneficial.
I'M NERVOUS ABOUT ATTENDING
Probably the most asked question. Attending a class can be daunting for some, a new 'discipline' that you are learning, new people, scared you're going to do things wrong? DO NOT WORRY. The nature of Taiji Qigong attracts wonderful and caring people, so you'll be in good in company.
WHAT DO I WEAR?
Wear whatever you would do at home to be comfortable in, ideally something very loose and with layers so you can adjust your body temperature.
We recommend you do not eat an hour before attending class. Water is available at the studio unless you prefer to bring your own.
We need to be made aware of any medical condition that you are suffering from. Although Taiji Qigong is a non-intrusive and holistic system it is advised that you consult your GP if you have any concerns about attending our classes.
WILL THE CLASS BE TOO LONG FOR ME?
Classes are pitched at a level that everyone can enjoy. We use 'micro-teaching' techniques which are small intensive burst of teaching spaced out with regular breaks for you to assimilate your learning.
I CAN'T STAND FOR LONG PERIODS
No problem, please advise your teacher and the movements can be adapted for sitting.
